#VoteReady for Vote.org

Project details

100 million eligible voters didn’t turn out in 2016.

In 2020, Millennials and Gen Z made up 37% of the electorate. Just 36% of this age group turned out in the 2018 midterm election, leaving millions of potential voters on the sidelines.

To get #VoteReady, Vote.org wanted to reach communities, companies, and colleges to make sure everyone had a plan to cast their ballot safely and securely, whether by mail, early voting, or voting on Election Day.

Creative process

We leaned on meme culture to create graphics and developed a social media toolkit to distribute as widely as possible through influencers, brand partnerships, and grassroots efforts.

Results

Young people had a major impact on the 2020 election. Half of youth (ages 18-29) cast a ballot in November 2020—a remarkable 11-point increase over youth voter turnout in 2016.

Kathleen was an integral part of our efforts to reach and turn out a record number of voters this year. She developed strategic positioning and key messaging for a number of priority projects this election cycle, including leveraging her social media expertise to develop platform-specific content for our influencer toolkit.
